PRESIDENT - Michael Hammond

President & CEO, PICOR Cushman Wakefield Commercial Real Estate Services

Michael Hammond has been in commercial real estate for over thirty years and formed PICOR Commercial Real Estate Services in 1985. Today, PICOR [CW is Tucson's largest independent commercial Real Estate brokerage and management firm. Mr. Hammond is extensively involved in community service and positions of leadership in professional organizations, including the Arizona Association for Economic Development (Past President), State of Arizona Commerce and Economic Development (Past Commissioner), Society of Industrial and Office Realtors (Past Chapter Chair, Past National Board Member) and the American Red Cross Southern Arizona Chapter (Past Chair).

TREASURER - Michael Arnold

Associate Director, Engineering Management Programs
University of Arizona

Michael Arnold was a founder and managing director of Modular Mining, an Arizona based technology and mining services corporation purchased by Komatsu in 1994. Mr. Arnold subsequently served as Assistant Director of the Berger Entrepreneurial Program at the University of Arizona Karl Eller Business School and currently serves as Associate Director – Engineering Management Programs for the University of Arizona College of Engineering.

SECRETARY - Kendall Bert

Kendall Bert served as Economic Development Director for the City of Tucson since 1984, pursuant to which he was responsible for the coordination of City economic development activities, including manufacturing assistance, workforce development, business retention and expansion, neighborhood revitalization and film promotion. Mr. Bert recently retired from the regional economic development organization TREO, where he served as Senior Vise President with a focus on regional competitiveness, and now manages a small business that manufactures and sells agricultural products.

TRUSTEE - Kathleen Perkins

Chair, BAB, UA Mathematical Sciences University of Arizona Board, Mathematical Sciences

Kathleen Perkins has over 30 years of marketing, technical sales management experience, serving as Vice President of Sales, Marketing, and Customer Service for Tucson based Breault Research Organization. Ms. Perkins was promoted to CEO in 2003, where her work leading a team of engineers and scientists coincided with establishing Tucson as Arizona’s “Optics Valley”. Ms. Perkins subsequently went to work for the University of Arizona, where she led a number of efforts and organizations engaged in technology transfer and continues her work by leading a team engaged in big data/statistical analysis that will become mission critical to hundreds of sectors. Ms. Perkins currently resides in the Bay area but continues her involvement in the Tucson area.

TRUSTEE - Kenneth Abrahams

Executive Vice President, Diamond Ventures, Inc.

Ken Abrahams has been an owner, principal, investor, and founder of multiple business enterprises over 40 years. As a real estate professional Abrahams was a founding partner of Diamond Ventures, Inc., one of Arizona’s largest real estate firms with over $1.3 billion in assets. He directed real estate portfolio activities for the firm in diverse geographic markets.

In 2012 Ken Abrahams co-founded NexMetro Communities. NexMetro Communities sponsors and manages the development and operation of Avilla Homes residential rental neighborhoods.  As Chairman and CEO Mr. Abrahams has guided the company’s growth and expansion into numerous major markets across the Sunbelt region.

Mr. Abrahams is also a private equity investor having made numerous investments in operating companies across many business sectors over the past several decades.  Ken is co-founder and co-General Partner of Cadre Partners and Cadre Partners Fund, a private equity and business advisory firm, that has completed numerous principal investments in growth stage operating businesses and assisted numerous operating companies complete complex business transactions.

By nature, Abrahams is a “builder” who recognizes the importance of strategic thinking tempered by practical realities, forging market based solutions that can adapt to changing conditions. He is a strong leader, skilled in the assembly and management of highly qualified teams of professionals capable of efficiently implementing the plan and reaching established goals on a timely basis.

Through a practical integration of team building and keen implementation skills, Ken has consistently and successfully executed the project vision and delivered strong financial results.

Abrahams has worked to advance student achievement and improve the performance of public schools through such programs as Tucson Values Teacher, Lead Guitar and MAP Dashboard. Mr. Abrahams has served on the board of directors of Southern Arizona Leadership Council and is on the board of directors of Community Finance Corporation.

Abrahams is a member of the Urban Land Institute and numerous other industry organizations committed to real estate industry best practices.
